Color Belt Testing occurs the second Friday of every month at 7:00pm, unless otherwise noted.
1. A testing form and a testing fee are required prior to each test. Forms may be requested from Grand Master Kwak. If he gives you the form, the student may test. If not, Grand Master Kwak will discuss with you why the student is not ready for testing.
2. Testing for a yellow stripe through a blue belt with a red stripe requires attendance at 18 - 20 regular classes before testing will be allowed. For the designation of red belt through black belt, attendance at 50 regular classes is required.
3. Practice for board breaking may be done between classes. Boards may be purchased for $3.00 per board. You must see a black belt for assistance. Board breaking begins with the yellow belt. Students age 7 or below (regardless of rank) are not required to attempt board breaking. Students 8 - 12 break a half board and ages 13 and above will break a full board. Successful board breaking is not required to pass a test until testing for black belt status. The kick used to break the boards is the designated kick for the student's particular rank. This kick is practiced in class.
4. Private testing may be granted by Grand Master Kwak in unusual circumstances. Discuss this with him if the student is ready for testing but you have extenuating circumstances.
The following numbers refer to one steps as listed in the book Self Defense 100 by Grand Master Kwak.
